The real reason why my firefox 2 get so slow
July 4, 2008
I use mandriva spring 2008.1 in my desktop computer. At first I always use firefox to do a lot of things (i.e browsing). And then I installed lots of firefox extension, to be honest it was my mistake. When you installed too many firefox extension then your firefox performance will decrease and it will become so slow and then it will freezed. When the first time I encoutered this problem I had to use opera to browse the web though. But now I know the solution to restore your firefox performance.
In KDE you just have to rename the folder .mozilla to .old_mozilla by using root in konsole
[root@localhost jacobian]# mv .mozilla .old_mozilla
then you will have your new firefox. But I don’t know if it’s the same in gnome though.
PS: all your bookmark tabs and extension are in .old_mozilla so you will be able to retrieve it again if you would like to.
