netsend in vista

I just realize that there are no netsend in windows vista, it’s only available in windows XP. I had to use third party tools of netsend to be able to use it. actually there are others tool similar to netsend namely MSG.EXE but it only available in vista business and ultimate and doesn’t exist in vista home edition in which I am currently using. you can download the third party tools here.

classic game

while I was browsing I found this classic game, the game names is Cadillac and Dinosaurus. I remember playing this game back when I was in elementary school. It really bring back my memory of all the thing that I did during my childhood.

if I am not mistaken I played this game back in 1998 when I was still too young to understand anything about sex. hehe…

you first have to load the game using an emulator, and click on all the visible game so it will list all the visible game that exist in the directory and then click the cadillac and dinosaurus. don’t forget to set the key so it would be easier for you to play the game using your keyboard.  I heard someone say that music brings your old memory back, but for me when playing this game then it did brings all my memory of my childhood.

BSOD (blue screen of death)

I use vista now, and I sometime got this blue screen things everytime I use vista. And god knows why did it happen. I haven’t found any single clue why BSOD always happen and what preventive measure that can be done to address it.

The “Blue Screen of Death” is an ominously nondescript blue screen alerting the user that, for any number of reasons, the computer must shut down to prevent further damage. This screen is accompanied by text, of which much is unintelligible to all but the most tech savvy.

to know what happen with your computer and the reason why is has a blue screen then you can try this small utility called BlueScreenView

BlueScreenView is an informative utility that operates as a interpreter of sorts, taking what many find to be incomprehensible and processing  that information in a manner that makes it a bit easier to digest. The necessity of a utility like BlueScreenView becomes obvious when observing how little time you have before the “Blue Screen of Death” proceeds with a system reboot.

With BlueScreenView, the user can access BSOD dump file, filtering that information through a report that’s just a bit easier to understand. When launching the application, it will scan for the minidump files generated by the system crash, which are usually located in C:\windows\minidump. Taking that data, it displays it in a window, with the dump file listed above and those drivers associated with the crash sorted below.

all the novel that I have read

I always like to read book, especially a novel. here I will list some of the novel that I have read.

of all the author of these novel, my favourite author is Stephen King and Sandra Brown, where as Sidney Sheldon is a bit boring in terms of it story. Although I read a lot of his novel. For me Stephen King is the best, the story line is genious and he can describe the situation in the story really well and I kinda like it. Also Sandra Brown really great at narrating the story. But my best author is Stephen King, he is also a film director and to be honest watching his film really is creepy sometime and intense. Well, if there are any good novel out there that I haven’t read, just let me know then.

signs of lie

sometime when we interact with our friend we must be able to distinguish whether our friend is telling the truth or not.

I want to talk about lies, if you are in a relationship you have to know when your partner are telling lies or truth. The following is a technique to know if someone is lying to you.

body language of lies
1. Physical expression will be limited and stiff, with few arm and hand movements.  Hand, arm and leg movement are toward their own body the liar takes up less space

2. a person who is lying to you will avoid making eye contact

3. hands touching their face, throat and mouth. Touching or scratching the nose or behind the ear. Not likely to touch his chest/heart with an open hand

emotional gestures and contradiction
1. timing and duration of emotional gestures and emotions are off normal pace. The display of emotion is delayed, stays longer it would naturally then stops suddenly

2. timing is off between emotions gestures/expressions and words. Example: someone says “I love it!” when receiving a gift, and then smile after making that statement, rather then at the same time the statement is made

3.gestures/expressions don’t match the verbal statement, such as frowning when saying “I love you”

4. expressions are limited to mouth movements when someone is faking emotions (like happy, suprised, sad, awe) instead of the whole face. For example; when someone smiles naturally their whole  face is involved: jaw/cheek movement, eyes and forehead push down

interactions and reactions
1. a guilty person gets defensive. an innocent person will often go on the offensive

2. a liar is uncomfortable facing his questioner/accuser and may turn his head or body away

3. a liar might unconsciously place objects (book, coffee cup, etc) between themselves and you

verbal context and content
1. a liar will use your words to make answer a question. When asked “did you eat the last cookie?” the liar answer “no I did not eat the last cookie”

2. a statement with a contraction is more likely to be truthful: “I didn’t do it” instead of “I did not do it”

3. liar sometimes avoid lying by not making direct statements. They imply answers instead of denying something directly

4. the guilty person may speak more than natural, adding unnecessary details to convince you. they are not comfortable with silence or pauses in the conversation

5. a liar may leave out pronouns and speak in a monotonous tone. when a truthful statement is made the pronoun is emphasized as much or more than the rest of the words in a statement

6. words may be garbled and spoken softly, and syntax and grammar may be off. In other words, his sentence will likely be muddled rather than emphasized

other signs of lie
1. if you believe someone is lying, then change subject of a conversation quickly, a liar follows along willingly and becomes more relaxed. the guilty wants the subject change; an innocent person may be confused by the sudden change in topics and will want to back to the previous subject.
2. using humor or sarcasm to avoid a subject

actually i get this tips somewhere on the web, but I forgot to bookmark the page so I can’t give you the link. Nevertheless this signs of lie might help you in interacting with your friend or someone special in your life.  Maybe knowing the truth will hurt sometimes especially if it’s from someone that you love, but it’s better that way. Trust me, I ‘ve been there.

the kindness that I saw myself

what is kindness? kindness is the act of giving freely to other people without expecting anything in return. And to my surprise I saw this act with my own eyes. It was heart-warming to see three young girls giving some food to the street kids in one of simpang Dago red light. Luckily I am able to take the picture and you can see it below.

what most important is that we must care about the situation of other people. Because basically we human are a socialize creature and we must be aware of our surrounding. The acts of these three girls should be spread and get appreciated.

6 Things that I like

I will try to list a few things that I find really interesting for me. The things that made my life worth every single moment.

1. gym
going to the gym really made my day. I am learning how to control my power in using all the heavy stuff. I learned how to run in threadmill and doing push-up, pull up, and back up. All the things that I do there really shape my body. I think if you’re really stress out then you should go to the gym and have fun there. Also you can meet a lot of new people and get acquainted to many sexy girl doing workout there.

2. internet cafe
actually I have my own internet connection at home, I use im2 internet using ZTE modem. A handy modem I think and I was able to keep updated myself to the internet, but sometime it’s just really not that great browsing internet alone. I know some of you guys prefer to be alone when viewing all those porn stuff. But let’s face it, we are human and we need to be socialize. And to achieve this we must go to the crowded place so we can met many new person there. This can be done if we use to go to internet cafe instead of being online at home. I sometime try to go to a new internet cafe and I met a lot of pretty girl there (I also not forget to ask for their facebook account so I can add it). I like internet cafe that has a clean toilet, stable computer that dosen’t get hang easily, a spacious space, a good keyboard that is comfortable to type and also a large mouse so it will be easy to navigate. And this internet cafe does exist and I love being there. I am talking about Kubus internet cafe located near BIP mall in bandung. I really love being there. Definitely my recommendations if you want to go to a good internet cafe

3. my campus
this is the place that I love, I study here. A lot has happened in my campus. I spent 5 years of my life in this place so it has affected me personally. There are also many bad things happened but sometime good things too. I guess we must judged a place by how much its affected us.

4. Spongebob Squarepants.
this is the cartoon that I love so much. I will list a few of the character of this cartoon here then.

5. woman
this is the one creature that I love. I love seeing beautiful woman, a sexy woman is a plus.
the older I am the more I realize my hormon sometime always take full control of me. If you want to learn more about woman then you can visit this site (beware this is a porn site).

6. Beer
the last things that I like in this world is beer. There is nothing better than to drink a nice beer. I prefer Heineken or Guinnes or other drink that has alcohol in it. Drinking beer always soothes me, I feel comfortable and relax. Hmm…talking about beer reminds that I should go to circle K and get some beer there.hehehe….

seminar dan pengalamanku

tadi siang jam 1 aq mempresentasikan judul TA-ku kepada dosen, dan ya aq sangat bersyukur bisa lulus dan dapat nilai B. ya gapapa lah dapat B. sebenarnya sempat terpikir untuk ngulang seminar lg seh, tapi keknya kelamaan deh ntar. mending aq terima ajah tuh B lalu aq fokuskan diriku untuk mengerjakan aplikasinya.

Incremental update of inverted lists for text document retrieval

ya tugas akhir yang menjelaskan sedikit banyaknya tentang information retrieval. di tugas akhir ini aq menjelaskan bagaimana untuk meng-update suatu index secara periodik sehingga ketika akan datangnya dokumen yg baru maka akan langsung di update secara otomatis dan akan dimasukkan ke dalam index sehingga proses pencarian akan dokumen tersebut akan lebih cepat dan efisien.

tadi pas seminar ya kata dosen penguji seh proposal TA aq tuh kurang measurable gt untuk Tujuan Masalahnya. hmm…ya aq jg baru pertama kali seminar jadi ya aq baru sadar ternyata rekomendasi dari dosen yang kudapatkan pas saat meminta assessment ke dosen tuh harus aq perhatikan. dan ini adalah hal yg aq abaikan. Padahal di form assesment itu ada tulisan bagi aq untuk bisa membuat Tujuan Masalah menjadi lebih measurable.hehe…ok tapi setidaknya aq udah dapat nilai B tadi. walaupun aq tuh udah takut banget kalau sampai aq tidak lulus seminar dan harus ngulang bulan depan. ya bukannya apa, tapi aq ini adalah mahasiswa semester 9, udah terlalu lama aq berada di kampus ini dan harus lulus segera.

setelah selesai seminar aq masuk kuliah information retrieval, ada kejadian unik seh tadi. Dosen IR (information retrieval) aq menanyakan ama kelas kenapa dalam membuat index harus sesuai dengan abjad? nah apa ada diantara kalian yg tau apa jawabannya?aq seh td menjawab kalau membangun index harus sesuai dengan abjad atau lexicographical dikarenakan untuk memudahkan dalam melakukan proses sequensial dalam pencarian dokumen di index. sama seperti B-tree dimana proses sequential juga terjadi. Dan ya karna jawabanku benar dosen IR aq td kasih nilai plus gt utk aq.hehe…. ya lumayanlah.

tapi ada satu hal yg masih mengganjal di hatiku td, hmm…pas seminar kan biasanya teman2 aq tuh ada yg bawa ceweknya, tapi tadi ga ada cewek yg melihat seminar aq. ya mau gimana lg? emang aq skrg lg ga ada cewek kok. lgpula foto cewek yg kalian lihat di blog ini (foto aq dan cewek yg ada di blog ini diatas itu) dia udah ga peduli lg ama aq. dan satu2nya alasan kenapa aq masih menaruh foto dia disitu adalah aq udah malas banget edit themes wordpress, kelamaan soalnya. apalagi kan wordpress servernya di amerika jadi ya loadingnya kelamaan. dan juga gimana ya, menurutku kalau ada foto aq dan cewek di blog ini bisa membuat senyum orang yg mengunjungi blog aq. jadi ya biarlah. hehe…

dan ya aq sangat berharap ntar pas aq sidang ada cewek yg mau menemaniku dan jg mau jadi pendamping wisuda aq ntar.hahaha….supaya lebih terkesan seh. .

killing process using powershell for windows

Now we will talk about windows.I have been using powershell, an equivalent of konsole in windows to automated some task. Here I will list a few commands that can be used to kill a process using powershell so you don’t have to open a task manager to do that (almost every windows user use task manager to kill a process).

first off you have to open a powershell. and then type this command to know which process you are running.

PS C:\Users\jacobian> get-process

and then it will list all the process that’s been running like the screenshot below.

and now to kill a process you just have to look up for the process ID and kill it using the following command

PS C:\Users\jacobian> stop-process 4172

process ID 4172 belongs to a process named Winamp, and I kill it using the above command.

I think powershell really improve my experience using windows as an operating system. Just wait for another tutorial about powershell then. thanks for reading.
